Ao longo dos anos, os maiores mestres de aikido do mundo têm elogiado Saito Morihiro Shihan e o seu trabalho.

Aqui estão dois exemplos de mestres já falecidos que bem conheceram o nosso grande mestre,

Shirata Shihan e Nishio Shihan.

RINJIRO SHIRATA SHIHAN

"Se tormarmos tudo em consideração, a pessoa que mais serviu O'Sensei, foi Saito Sensei. Realmente eu tenho de lhe tirar o meu chapéu. Ele serviu-o antes de se casar. Ele ajudou-o com o seu trablho no campo. Depois de se casar, a sua mulher serviu a mulher de Ueshiba Sensei. Realmente, todos os membros da família Saito serviram-no. Por esta razão, O'Sensei ensinou-o com sinceridade e Saito Sensei aprendeu da mesma forma. É por esta razão que ele recebeu aquele terreno (local onde a casa de Saito Sensei está construida, na propriedade de Ueshiba, e que lhe foi oferecida pelo Fundador) e ele está a preservar o dojo. Não existe nenhuma outra pessoa que treinou tanto. Ele é uma das pessoas que ajudaram a completar o aikido de Ueshiba Sensei. Curvo-me diante de Saito Sensei. As técnicas que ele demonstrou na demonstração do outro dia eram precisas e cortantes. Ele demonstrou técnicas com sentido e sem alguma abertura."

ENGLISH:

All things being considered, the person who served 0-Sensei most was Saito Sensei. I really take off my hat to him. He served him before he married. He helped him with his farm work. After he mar ried, his wife served the wife of Ueshiba Sensei. Really, everybody in the Saito Sensei’s family served him. So, Ueshiba Sensei taught him in earnest and Saito Sensei learned in the same way. That’s why he re ceived that amount of land (where Saito Sensei’s house is built on Ueshiba property given him by the Founder) and he is preserving the dojo. There’s no other person who trained that much. He is one of the persons who helped to complete Ueshiba Sensei’s Aikido. I take off my hat to Saito Sensei. The techniques he showed in the demon stration the other day were sharp and precise. He performed meaning ful techinques without any openings.

SHOJI NISHIO SHIHAN

"Saito Sensei is the only person who can hand down the past. This is what we have to do to forge the future. If there are ten of us, we have to join forces to realize O-Sensei’s Aikido. It is the role of Saito Sensei to hand down O-Sensei’s art exactly as it was. When we get confused about something, we can go and learn from him. He is able to do that for us."
